Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has called for renewed discipline, integrity and unity within the Cabinet as he officially closed a high-level orientation seminar for Ministers and Deputy Ministers at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.

The seminar, opened earlier by Vice President Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, aimed to build a shared understanding of Cabinet responsibilities, leadership ethics and operational procedures, while aligning ministers with the expectations of citizens and the nation’s long-term development direction.

Dr. Mwigulu said the knowledge gained over the course of the training would play a critical role in strengthening the Cabinet’s capacity to implement the Government’s priorities from the Election Manifesto and management of public resources to Tanzania’s Vision 2050 and national development plans.

He noted that improved coordination within government would translate into better service delivery and a stronger social contract with citizens, adding that Tanzanians expect visible results from their leaders.

“The skills and clarity you have acquired here should guide you as you steer key sectors,” he told the ministers.

“Our responsibility is to ensure that public resources are managed prudently and that commitments made to the people are fulfilled with efficiency and integrity.”he added

Dr. Mwigulu emphasised that effective governance, transparent decision-making and ethical leadership remain at the heart of the country’s development aspirations.

He urged the ministers to maintain a unified front in delivering on reforms and national priorities, stressing that “leadership is measured by outcomes, not intentions.”

The orientation was organised specifically for members of the Cabinet as part of ongoing efforts to enhance policy execution and reinforce a culture of accountability across government.
