Ardhi University (ARU) today held its 19th Graduation Ceremony in Dar es Salaam, with more than 1,500 graduates completing their studies across various academic disciplines, as the university leadership expressed strong confidence in their readiness for the job market.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Chancellor of the University, who is also retired Chief Justice of Tanzania, Mohammed Chande Othman, said he was pleased to witness a large number of students successfully graduating, noting that the quality and expertise of the university’s academic staff have adequately prepared them for professional competitiveness.
“I am truly pleased to see our graduates completing their studies today. Given the high level of expertise among our lecturers and the quality of training provided, we have no doubt at all about their competitiveness in the labour market,” said retired Chief Justice Othman.
He further explained that the increased number of graduates this year resulted from the introduction of additional academic programmes, which expanded training opportunities and enabled more students to pursue higher education in land-related and allied fields.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Prof. Evaristo Liwa said the university has fulfilled its responsibility by equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills, adding that the responsibility now lies with graduates to put what they have learned into practice.
“The university has done everything required in preparing these graduates. What remains is implementation graduates must go out and serve as good ambassadors of this institution,” Prof. Liwa said.
On her part, Chairperson of the University Council, Ambassador Salome Sijaona, said the council has great confidence in the graduates, citing their meaningful contribution to national processes as evidence of their competence.
“We have strong confidence in our graduates. Their significant participation in the formulation of the National Development Vision 2050 clearly demonstrated their academic strength and commitment to national development,” Ambassador Sijaona said.
The 19th Ardhi University graduation ceremony concluded with a call for graduates to uphold integrity, professionalism and patriotism as they apply their expertise in contributing to national development, particularly in the land and built environment sectors.
