The government has praised the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) for its pivotal role in promoting higher education, supporting the digital economy, and producing highly skilled professionals ready to compete globally.
The commendation came from the Deputy Minister of Finance, Eng. Mshamu Ali Munde (MP), during the 27th graduation ceremony of IAA held at the institute’s Arusha campus.
Munde said IAA continues to be a key institution in implementing the National Development Vision through education, research, innovation, and modern technology.
He noted that the institute’s management, lecturers, and staff are preparing experts in fields including Accounting, Finance, ICT, Banking, Insurance, Marketing, Procurement, and Business Management.
“I congratulate IAA for offering practical-focused curricula that ensure students are job-ready the moment they graduate,” he said.
The Deputy Minister added that the approach ensures graduates gain skills in areas directly needed in the labor market, including auditing, public relations, taxation, tourism, and business management.
He highlighted that the government has invested in higher education reforms through the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) project.
This has helped IAA upgrade infrastructure, acquire modern ICT tools, train lecturers in contemporary teaching methods, and strengthen links to the industrial and digital economy.
Munde also praised IAA for supporting the government’s plan to expand higher education across the country.
He cited the upcoming Songea Campus and the new Bukombe Campus, which will begin operations in the 2025/2026 academic year.
“These campuses will not only improve education access but also drive economic growth for communities and the nation,” he said.
He urged graduates to use their education to build their lives, support their families, and contribute to national development with integrity and professionalism.
Dr. Mwamini Tulli, Chairman of IAA’s Board, thanked the Ministry of Finance for enabling the institute to deliver its core mission of training, research, and professional advisory services.
He said the graduation ceremony reflected the institute’s impact in producing qualified professionals.
Prof. Eliamani Sedoyeka, IAA Principal, said the institute has expanded its programs from certificate to postgraduate levels while maintaining high standards.
This year, IAA offered 81 courses, including 19 certificates, 20 diplomas, 27 undergraduate, and 15 postgraduate programs.
Prof. Sedoyeka added that IAA is implementing smart classrooms and a smart campus to integrate ICT fully in teaching, learning, and administration.
A total of 4,821 students graduated during the ceremony, including 2,810 men and 2,011 women.
