Dar es Salaam. The city of Dar es Salaam has today turned into a major hub of technology, trade and investment following the official opening of the 26th International Automotive, Spare Parts and Industrial Machinery Tools & Equipment Trade Exhibition, an event that has brought together key stakeholders from the transport and industrial sectors across the globe.
The exhibition, organized by EXPO Group, a leading company in coordinating international trade fairs in Tanzania, aims to showcase modern technologies, promote knowledge exchange and unlock new investment opportunities in sectors that are critical to the country’s economic growth.
Speaking during the official opening ceremony, the guest of honour representing the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Mr. Andrew Magombana, a Director from the Ministry of Transport, said the exhibition directly touches the transport and industrial sectors and plays a crucial role in transforming industrial and transport systems.
“These exhibitions directly impact the transport sector and play a crucial role in the transformation of industrial and transport systems. They provide a unique opportunity for stakeholders to learn, invest and collaborate for sustainable development,” said Mr. Magombana.
He commended EXPO Group for its continued collaboration with the Government in organizing the exhibition, noting that such partnerships have helped attract international companies, investors and development partners who increasingly view Tanzania as a strategic trade and investment hub in the East and Central African region.
Mr. Magombana further highlighted the achievements recorded in the transport sector, revealing that its contribution to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has continued to grow, increasing from 7.2 percent in 2023 to 7.5 percent in 2024.
According to him, the growth reflects ongoing improvements in transport infrastructure, services and overall economic activities linked to the sector.
“The Government will continue to provide support and create an enabling environment for transport and industrial sector stakeholders to ensure sustained growth that benefits the national economy and the wellbeing of citizens,” he added.
On his part, EXPO Group Tanzania Regional Director, Mr. Ben Mosha, said the exhibition is more than just a business event, describing it as a platform for dialogue, innovation exchange and strategic partnerships between local and international investors.
“This exhibition is a platform for dialogue and innovation exchange partnerships. We encourage Tanzanians to attend in large numbers to witness new technologies, explore innovations and expand their business networks both nationally and internationally,” said Mr. Mosha.
Meanwhile, Mr. Juma Mzima, representing the Director General of the Tanzania Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), said the authority will continue to attract more investors and provide full cooperation to all stakeholders interested in investing in the country, particularly within special economic zones.
He noted that TISEZA views the exhibition as a key opportunity to connect investors, technology providers and government institutions in order to accelerate industrial development and create employment opportunities for Tanzanians.
This year’s exhibition has attracted more than 60 companies from over 10 countries worldwide, showcasing a wide range of products and services including vehicles, spare parts, industrial machinery, heavy equipment, construction tools and modern production technologies.
The three-day event runs from December 17 to December 19, featuring both the 26th Auto Expo Africa 2025 and the 25th Indusmach Expo Africa 2025, and is regarded as one of the largest trade and technology exhibitions taking place in Tanzania this year.
