Following a successful season that saw them finish atop the NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League, Yanga SC has turned its full attention to the CAF Champions League, preparing for their first group stage clash against Morocco’s AS FAR.

The eagerly anticipated match is set for November 22 at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar.

Speaking yesterday, Yanga’s Media and Communications Officer, Ally Kamwe, said the team has launched a focused training program for the international fixture, aiming to make a strong impression in the group stage.

“We thank God that we concluded our domestic league campaign without injuries. According to our team doctor, all players are fit, and we are fully ready for the international challenge ahead,” Kamwe said.

With domestic duties behind them, the club is now concentrating all efforts on the continental stage, where they face a highly competitive group.

“We call on our fans to stand with us during this critical phase. Being drawn in a tough group with strong teams highlights Yanga’s growth and the stature we have achieved,” Kamwe added.

In addition, the club plans to unveil a new kit for the match against AS FAR, with the launch scheduled for Wednesday in Dar es Salaam.

Yanga has been drawn in Group B alongside Egypt’s Al Ahly, Morocco’s AS FAR, and Algeria’s JS Kabylie. The club is determined to compete strongly against historically successful and highly competitive sides, signaling its ambitions on the African stage.
