Yanga heads to Zanzibar for crucial CAF Champions League encounter against AS FAR Rabat

By Flora Mkoloma

Young Africans SC (Yanga) will depart for Zanzibar tomorrow as part of their final preparations for the upcoming CAF Champions League clash against Moroccan giants AS FAR Rabat, scheduled for November 22 at the New Amaan Complex Stadium.

The squad is expected to leave Dar es Salaam at 9:00 AM aboard a boat, marking the beginning of their intensified build-up ahead of one of their most significant fixtures this season.

Yanga’s Media Manager confirmed that a few key players Prince Dube, Celestine Ecua, and Lassine Kouma will not travel with the team tomorrow as they are still engaged in international duties with their respective national teams.

The club has, however, made special travel arrangements to ensure the players join the squad directly in Zanzibar once they conclude their assignments.

Players who were part of the Tanzania national team have already rejoined the squad and will make the trip to Zanzibar alongside the rest of the team.

The club has extended a heartfelt call to Zanzibar residents, urging them to turn out in large numbers to welcome the squad and demonstrate their support ahead of what is expected to be a historic and high-stakes continental showdown.

Meanwhile, Yanga is set to unveil their new CAF Champions League kit this Thursday. The special-edition jerseys, tailored specifically for the club’s continental campaign, are produced with premium-grade materials.

The leadership noted that the kits will be available in limited quantities and encouraged supporters to secure theirs early.

As the countdown to the match continues, Yanga remains focused on delivering a strong performance and advancing their ambitions on the African stage.
