The remains of Joshua Mollel's body, the young Tanzanian who lost his life during the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023, arrived in the country today at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), marking a solemn moment for the nation and his grieving family.
A government delegation representing the United Republic of Tanzania received the remains with full respect.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Said Shaib Mussa, accompanied by Ambassador Silima Haji Kombo.
Speaking at the airport, government representatives emphasized that bringing Mollel home was a matter of national responsibility and compassion.
They conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to stand with them during this period of deep sorrow.
Mollel’s remains will be laid to rest tomorrow, November 20, 2025, at Njiro Street, Orkesumet Ward, Simanjiro District in Manyara Region.
The government has urged Tanzanians to extend support and solidarity to the bereaved family, noting that the loss of a young citizen abroad touches the entire nation.
