The Government of Qatar has handed over brand-new 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, in a gesture aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The handover ceremony took place today in Dar es Salaam and was officiated by the Ambassador of Qatar to Tanzania, Fahad Rashid Al-Murikhi, who represented the State of Qatar.

Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, received the vehicles on behalf of the government.

The donation, which came with no conditions attached, has been described as a testament to the deepening relations between Doha and Dar es Salaam.

Officials say the vehicles will significantly boost the ministry’s capacity to conduct diplomatic engagements and facilitate the reception of high-level international guests.

Minister Kombo expressed gratitude to Qatar for what he termed a timely and meaningful contribution.

“We appreciate this generous, unconditional support. These vehicles will enhance the ministry’s operational efficiency, especially in diplomatic duties and official missions,” he said.

Observers of international relations note that the gesture underscores Qatar’s growing interest in expanding cooperation with Tanzania, particularly as the Gulf nation continues to position itself as a major global economic and diplomatic player.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the ministry and representatives from the Qatari embassy.

The event forms part of broader efforts to advance collaboration in sectors such as energy, tourism, education, and employment.
