Peace is the foundation of development, Kibaha residents told

By The Respondent Reporter

Residents in Kibaha have been encouraged to safeguard peace and stability in their communities to ensure uninterrupted social and economic activities that support local and national development.

The message was delivered by Police Inspector Elieza Hokororo from the Pwani Regional Community Policing Unit during an engagement session with bodaboda and bajaji operators, as well as traders at the Kibaha Bus Terminal.

Inspector Hokororo stressed that peace is essential for daily livelihoods, noting that insecurity immediately affects people’s ability to work and access basic services.

“When peace is disturbed, transport operators cannot move passengers or goods, and people are unable to access food, healthcare, or other essential services,” he said.

Mr. Rashid Madaraka, who spoke on behalf of traders at the terminal, commended the regional police for their continued cooperation, particularly through regular awareness campaigns on security, crime reporting, and community safety.

Inspector Hokororo was joined by the Kibaha District Community Policing Commander and ward inspectors from Maili Moja, Tangini, Kongowe, Tumbi, and Boko Mnemela.

The team visited various groups—including transport operators and traders—to highlight the importance of peace as a driver of development and community well-being.
