The Director of Kibaha Municipal Council, Dr. Rogers Shemwelekwa, has ordered the immediate reconstruction of roads in Machinjioni and Kilimahewa wards after inspections revealed substandard workmanship that fails to meet government standards.

Dr. Shemwelekwa made the directive on November 13, 2025, during an official inspection tour of development projects in Tangini Ward, part of his ongoing visits to various wards across Kibaha Municipality.

“These roads were funded with TZS 30 million from the municipality’s own resources, but the work does not meet the required quality. The government’s objective is to solve citizens’ daily challenges, and in this case, the problem remains unresolved. I am ordering the ward executive to ensure the roads are reconstructed, and I will personally return to inspect the work,” Dr. Shemwelekwa said.

He urged local leaders and residents to monitor development funds to ensure they are used properly and achieve the intended impact.

In addition, Dr. Shemwelekwa approved the construction of two new culverts near Mamlaka Primary School and the Kwa Kwembe ferry area, targeting locations prone to flooding, to ease the daily hardships faced by residents.

Kibaha Municipality has allocated a total of TZS 420 million from its own revenue for road improvements, providing TZS 30 million to each ward to address critical local infrastructure needs.
