Get ready as APAIC 2025 brings digital sovereignty in Africa

By Our Special Correspondent

The fast-approaching Africa Premier Artificial Intelligence Conference (APAIC) 2025 has been described as a movement for AI capacity building and digital sovereignty in Africa.

This impactful three-day conference is scheduled at Arusha International Conventional Center (AICC) in Arusha from November 24th to 27th.

Arusha becomes the capital of Africa’s AI revolution through the largest year-end convening on Artificial Intelligence, unpacking Agentic AI for Africa's social and economic transformation.

Much respect should go to the USA based MindHYVE.ai for leading the path in the development of autonomous systems for the future generations.

MindHYVE.ai is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) research and technology company developing domain-specific expert AI agents termed Digital Employees to transform how businesses operate, automate, and scale.

These agents, powered by MindHYVE’s proprietary Ava-Fusion large reasoning model, and derivative expert large reasoning models including Ava-Healthcare, Ava-Legal, Ava-Education, Ava-Finance, Ava-Insurance, Ava-RealEstate, Ava-Retail, Ava-Marketing, Ava-Theology and Ava-Technology provide real-time decision support, advanced cognitive reasoning, and adaptive learning across critical verticals including healthcare, law, education, finance, real estate, and more

APAIC is the continent’s foremost platform for advancing responsible Artificial Intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation.

In his recent media interview, APAIC Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson Mr Abdulwahid Ali Khamis said Tanzania has already proved to be among the countries doing well in terms of proper use of AI.

"We expect a lot from this special conference which is happening in Tanzania for the first time...so, I personally believe that we are going to achieve a lot and the outcome will be amazing," he said.

He added: "Time is here for Africa to establish its own AI systems to go along with the demands of the continent's population other than relying heavily on the consumption of AI produced outside the continent."

The upcoming conference will explore how Agentic AI— systems that think, act, and learn autonomously — can power Africa’s next wave of innovation, inclusion, and growth.

One of the major highlights during the conference will be the unveiling of The Dawn Directive — the world’s first AI literacy and fluency framework authored with support from an Agentic AI system

However, this year’s APAIC edition will go beyond conversation to co-creation — bringing together governments, private sector leaders, investors, and innovators to define frameworks for responsible and inclusive AI adoption across health, education, trade, agriculture, and governance.

The conference is powered by a dynamic partnership between SCANCODE Tanzania, HAM International, and global technology partners including MindHYVE.ai (USA) — a pioneering company in the Agentic AI space led by Bill Faruki, a visionary leader driving the frontier of autonomous and adaptive intelligence.

Similarly, The Ministry for Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) and DTBi have all put hands together to bless this event.

These partners, alongside leading industry actors and African investment agencies, are shaping a continental agenda that focuses on AI literacy, innovation ecosystems, and responsible governance frameworks.

Meanwhile, APAIC 2025 will be celebrated under the theme: "Shaping the Future of Innovation, Autonomy and Human Potential."

Call to action

APAIC invites government officials, business investors, educators and development partners to join the conference and actively take part.

Also, they expect to sign the Mombasa Declaration on Agentic AI, adopt The Dawn Directive as a continental AI literacy framework plus investing in Africa's AI startups and infrastructure.
