The Chief Justice of Tanzania, George Mcheche Masaju, has officially sworn in Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan as the President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The ceremony took place at the State House Parade Grounds in Chamwino, Dodoma, in the presence of national leaders, dignitaries, and thousands of Tanzanian citizens.
The occasion marked a proud and historic moment for the nation as Tanzanians from all walks of life gathered to witness the continuation of democratic leadership and the peaceful transfer of power that defines the country’s political stability.
In her inaugural address, President Samia Suluhu Hassan thanked the people of Tanzania for their continued trust and support. She pledged to lead with integrity, unity, and vision — ensuring that every Tanzanian benefits from the nation’s progress.
“Our strength lies in our unity and in our shared commitment to building a prosperous Tanzania for all,” President Samia said.
“Together, we will advance peace, stability, and development so that every citizen has an equal opportunity to succeed.”
The President highlighted key priorities for her administration, including strengthening the economy, investing in education and health services, empowering women and youth, and expanding opportunities in agriculture, technology, and industry.
She reaffirmed her dedication to good governance, transparency, and respect for the rule of law.
Chief Justice George Mcheche Masaju, who administered the oath, commended the President for her leadership and urged continued respect for constitutional values and justice for all citizens.
The swearing-in ceremony featured a vibrant military parade, national songs, and cultural performances that celebrated Tanzania’s unity and diversity. Citizens expressed pride and optimism for the country’s future under President Samia’s leadership.
Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan first assumed the presidency in March 2021 following the passing of the late President John Pombe Magufuli.
Her inauguration today reaffirms her mandate to lead Tanzania into a new era of growth, inclusivity, and national pride.
