Dar residents urge Tanzanians to remain united and pray for lasting peace

Adam Kiroba, a resident of Mkera in Chanika, Temeke District, has urged Tanzanians—particularly the youth—to uphold peace, unity, and compassion in their communities and to avoid any involvement in violence or unrest.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Kiroba said that those most affected by violence are often innocent groups, including women, children, the elderly, and low-income citizens.

“Our country is known as an island of peace, and we should continue to protect that reputation. The recent unrest has shown us the devastating consequences of violence—some people lost their businesses and even their homes. I appeal to my fellow citizens to preserve our peace and avoid promoting activities that cause division. Let us focus on building our nation together,” he said.

Kiroba also cautioned young people against blindly following online incitements or political provocations, urging them instead to engage in constructive activities that promote development and national unity.

He further called on Tanzanians of all faiths and denominations to continue praying for the nation so that peace, harmony, and solidarity remain the foundation of society.

Kiroba emphasized the value of peace, noting that the violence and chaos experienced on October 29, 2025, had far-reaching economic and social effects.

“The unrest affected many innocent people. It disrupted access to essential services, caused a rise in living costs, and left many low-income families struggling. We must learn from this experience and choose peace over chaos,” he added.

He concluded by encouraging citizens to remain patient, united, and focused on rebuilding together for the common good of the nation.
