The upcoming Tanzania Swimming Development Summit 2025 has been described as an ideal platform for key stakeholders to plan well on how to advance swimming in the country and East Africa at large.
The summit is scheduled on November 22nd at PSSSF Tower in Dar es Salaam and will bring under one roof swimming professionals, coaches, swimmers as well as enthusiasts from the East Africa region.
Briefing the Daily News yesterday, Prime Sports Agency Director of Planning Jeremiah Keema said different topics aimed at accelerating swimming will be discussed on the day.
"We have prepared several strategic topics to be disseminated by key speakers and later, attendees will be given a chance to contribute their views concerning swimming.
"So, a lot of things will be tabled ranging from where we have come from, where we are and planning about the future on what we should do to ensure that this sport continue to prosper," Keema said.
He further revealed that challenges facing development of swimming in East Africa and how best to eradicate them will also be on the agenda of the summit.
"For now, we are calling this as Tanzania Swimming Development Summit but due to its massive reception from stakeholders, plans are underway to make it East Africa Swimming Development Summit in order to have a wide coverage area," he said.
He then used the platform to call upon key stakeholders in swimming to turn up in big number and be part of this exciting inaugural summit slated to bring fortune to this sport.
He named some of the key speakers as David Mwasyoge who is the Chairman of Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA), Amina Mfaume who is Technical Director at TSA, Collins Marigiri who serves as Secretary General at Kenya Aquatic and Max Kanyerezi, a Swimming Expert from Uganda.
Also North Coast Swim Club (NCSC) Head Coach Khalid Rushaka will be among the technical staff attendees during the summit which has been organised by Prime Sports Agency in collaboration with TSA while NCSC are the main sponsors.
