Azam FC have set off today for Lindi ahead of their NBC Premier League match against Namungo FC, which is scheduled to be played the day after tomorrow at the Majaliwa Stadium.

The team will stop over in Mtwara for the night before continuing their journey to Lindi tomorrow morning to finalize preparations.

Speaking earlier today, November 7, 2025, the club’s Head of Information and Communication, Thabit Zakaria, known widely as Zaka Za Kazi, said the squad is in strong condition and motivated for the away fixture.

He revealed that players who had recently been sidelined with injuries have rejoined the team, including central defender Cheickna Diakite, who had been out for 72 days after picking up an injury during a pre-season friendly against APR in Rwanda.

“The only player yet to fully recover is Adolf Mtasingwa. He has started light individual training and is progressing well, but he will need around three more weeks before returning to full action,” Zakaria explained.

Zakaria added that training sessions and strategic preparations have gone according to plan and the team is ready for the challenge.

Azam will be looking to secure vital points on the road as the competition intensifies in the race for top positions in the league.
