By The Respondents Reporter

The Ministry of Minerals has released the latest indicative prices for gold and silver, showing slight fluctuations in both local and global markets.

Gold on the world market is currently trading at USD 4,388.60 per troy ounce (toz), equivalent to TZS 346,653.33 per gram.

Locally, gold is priced slightly lower at TZS 311,988 per gram, with buying centres offering TZS 305,054.93 per gram.

Silver remains more affordable for traders and investors. Internationally, silver is valued at USD 54.38 per troy ounce, or TZS 4,295.45 per gram.

In Tanzania, the mineral market price stands at TZS 3,865.90 per gram, while buying centres set the price at TZS 3,780 per gram.

Experts say the difference between world and local prices reflects operational costs, taxes, and regulatory levies, all of which influence mineral trading within the country.

The Ministry of Minerals continues to monitor global market trends to ensure fair pricing for miners, exporters, and investors.

The indicative prices serve as a key reference for miners and traders, promoting transparency and stability in Tanzania’s mineral sector.
