The Tanga Regional Security Committee has issued a stern warning to anyone planning to disrupt peace during the upcoming General Election on October 29, 2025, stressing that anyone involved in violence or disorder will face strict legal action.
The warning was delivered by the Committee’s Chairperson and Tanga Regional Commissioner, Ambassador Batilda Buriani, during a press briefing attended by members of the Peace Committee and local political party leaders.
Ambassador Buriani said the government will act decisively against anyone who threatens the region’s security and stability on election day.
Tanga Regional Police Commander, Almachius Mchunguzi, urged citizens to participate fully in the election and to vote peacefully, avoiding any acts that could disrupt order.
The Committee also assured residents that all election preparations are complete and called on Tanga citizens to take part in the voting process with discipline, calm, and respect for the law.
