Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has assured that the government will continue creating enabling environments for various social groups to fully participate in economic and social activities.
Speaking during a meeting with entrepreneur groups at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam today, Majaliwa emphasized the key role entrepreneurs play in driving the country’s economy.
“You are crucial to this nation’s economy, and your contributions have been significant. I want to assure you that this government values you and continues to implement programs that support your growth. Strengthen your businesses; we are here to support you,” he said.
He noted that the sixth-phase government, under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has rolled out several initiatives aimed at empowering entrepreneurs, including programs that provide access to capital, markets, and business training.
Other efforts include the National Program for Economic Empowerment of Women, support for the establishment of small industries, development of entrepreneur hubs, and allocation of land in each local council for agriculture, industry, trade, and other critical economic activities.
Majaliwa also highlighted the importance of cooperative-oriented groups and companies, urging councils to facilitate their registration, capital access, and financial management.
“Council leaders should monitor business activities, resolve challenges, and ensure entrepreneurs achieve success. We need to track how much they are contributing to the economy,” he added.
The Prime Minister further announced special programs to support young graduates from higher and vocational education institutions to access jobs and create their own enterprises.
“These programs will provide youth with capital, entrepreneurial skills, land, and enabling environments to fully participate in the economic activities they pursue,” he said.
Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, Dr. Dorothy Gwajima, praised President Samia for championing initiatives that uplift entrepreneurs and strengthen long-term economic ownership in Tanzania.
Entrepreneur leaders attending the meeting expressed gratitude to the government for its continued support, acknowledging the role these programs play in promoting both individual and national economic growth.
