Singida Black Stars Head Coach, Miguel Gamondi, has expressed strong optimism that his side will make good use of the next 180 minutes to secure victory and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
The Tanzanian Premier League club is set to take on Burundi’s Flambeau du Centre on October 19 in Bujumbura in a decisive second-leg clash that will determine which team advances to the group phase of the continental competition.
Speaking before the team’s departure to Burundi on Friday, Gamondi said the fixture means a lot to the club, as it marks their first-ever appearance in this advanced stage of the Confederation Cup qualifiers.
“This match is very important to us because it is the first time Singida Black Stars have progressed this far. We have prepared well, and the players understand the tactical plan required to overcome our opponents. If we remain disciplined and follow the strategy, we are confident of achieving a good result,” he said.
The Argentine coach added that his team’s progress so far reflects the quality and commitment of Tanzanian clubs competing in CAF tournaments this season.
“The first round went well for all four Tanzanian clubs, and we believe this next stage will also produce positive results. Our goal is to fly the national flag higher by reaching the group stage and making the country proud,” Gamondi emphasized.
