Tanzania’s Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango, accompanied by a high-level delegation, has represented the country at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) taking place in New York, United States.
Dr. Mpango delivered Tanzania’s statement before the Assembly on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
He was joined by his spouse, Mama Mbonimpaye Mpango, and also engaged in bilateral discussions with leaders from various nations on the sidelines of the summit.
The Tanzanian delegation included Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, who currently serves as the African Union Special Envoy on Women, Peace, and Security.
Others in attendance were Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabiti Kombo, and the Acting Permanent Representative of Tanzania to the United Nations.
The General Assembly, which has brought together leaders from across the globe, provides a platform for member states to deliberate on key international issues, including peace, security, sustainable development, and global cooperation.
