Stakeholders have been urged to support the Tanzania Veterans Football Association (UMSOTA) as it prepares to participate in the East African Veterans Football Tournament, scheduled to take place this October in Nairobi, Kenya, alongside celebrations for the International Day of Older Persons.

UMSOTA has confirmed its participation in the tournament, which will feature veteran teams from across the East African region.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, UMSOTA Chairman Faza Lusozi said the association welcomes all forms of support.

“Any contribution is highly appreciated, and our doors are open to everyone willing to assist,” he said.

Preparations are underway, including fundraising efforts to ensure the team can fully participate in the tournament.

“Representing Tanzania at the International Day of Older Persons gives us an opportunity to showcase clean football and entertainment while celebrating our day,” Lusozi added.

He emphasized that the aim is to join the global community in commemorating the International Day of Older Persons, observed annually.

Lusozi explained that the tournament will involve six East African countries, with participants including former national team players and top-league club veterans.

He further noted that the tournament is intended to become an annual event, promoting football and unity among veteran players across the East African region.
