Eighteen sports leaders from across Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar gathered today at Tiffany Diamond Hotel for the official launch of the Advanced Management Cohort III course.
The ceremony was officiated by the Guest of Honor, Wallace Karia, President of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), who praised the Tanzania Olympic Committee for its commitment to organizing the High-Level Sports Management Course.
Addressing the participants, Karia emphasized the critical role of professional development in sports leadership.
He urged sports institutions to prioritize competent and well-trained leaders, noting that in the near future, senior positions such as Permanent Secretaries and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) may only be attainable by those who complete essential courses like this one.
Such training, he explained, equips leaders with the skills to effectively manage and grow their organizations.
The course, which runs until 2026, features six comprehensive modules designed to prepare sports organizations including the Tanzania Olympic Committee in strategic management, human resources, finance, marketing, and sports administration.
Karia concluded by highlighting the long-term benefits of the program, describing it as a crucial step in fostering capable leadership to advance Tanzania’s sports sector.
