Dr. Tulia urges Uyole residents to elect leaders who deliver development

Speaker of Parliament and parliamentary candidate for the newly established Uyole constituency, Dr. Tulia Ackson, has urged residents to elect leaders capable of driving real development across key sectors, including education, health, roads, and water.

Speaking at a campaign rally on September 22, 2025, at Itezi Primary School Grounds in Nsalaga Ward, Dr. Tulia emphasized that development is not accidental but the result of deliberate leadership choices.

“Dear friends, schools are not built by chance. Their presence reflects the leadership we elect. That is why it is crucial to choose leaders with the influence and ability to bring meaningful development,” she said.

Dr. Tulia highlighted her achievements in education, citing the longstanding challenge of students sitting on the floor, which has now been resolved.

“No child sits on the floor in Uyole today. Even in secondary schools, the burden on parents to provide desks for new students has been reduced. These improvements are the result of initiatives under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and myself,” she added.

She also noted that vulnerable families continue to receive school uniforms annually, while the government invests in improving infrastructure by adding classrooms and recruiting teachers.

Clemence Mwandemba, the elected councilor for Nsalaga Ward representing CCM, said the ward has received development projects worth TZS 4 billion over the past four years.

“In education alone, over TZS 2 billion has been allocated, resulting in three new secondary schools, including the modern Nsalaga Secondary School, built at a cost of more than TZS 583 million,” he said.

Residents expressed optimism about the future, particularly in health, education, water, and infrastructure.

Deus Edwin, a local resident, said, “The arrival of Dr. Tulia is a blessing for the people of Uyole. We expect our local economy and services to grow significantly compared to the past.”

Dr. Tulia’s message resonates with a broader call for citizens to prioritize effective leadership that translates into tangible improvements in everyday life, underscoring the critical link between governance and development.
