Young Africans (Yanga) have stepped up their preparations for the 2025/26 football season with intensive training sessions at Avic Town grounds in Kigamboni.

According to the club’s Communications Officer, Ally Kamwe, the players are in good shape and showing strong morale as they gear up for both domestic and international competitions.

“The squad has been working on different aspects of training, including tactical drills, gym work, beach exercises, video analysis, and on-field sessions to ensure full readiness,” Kamwe explained.

He praised the technical bench, noting that the players have embraced the methods introduced by the coach.

“We are grateful that almost all players have adapted well. The coach has a solid tactical approach, and his plans are already showing great promise,” he said.

On the injury situation, Kamwe acknowledged that a few players are still recovering but assured fans that they are making steady progress through light training programs.

Yanga will open the season with a highly anticipated clash against arch-rivals Simba SC in the Community Shield (Ngao ya Jamii) on September 16, an encounter that will set the tone for the new Tanzania Premier League campaign.
