Tanzanian defender Mohamed Hussein, popularly known as Tshabalala, has officially joined Young Africans SC (Yanga) ahead of the 2025/2026 football season.
Yanga unveiled the former Simba captain as their latest signing, confirming he has agreed to a two-year contract. The deal was finalized in July 2025 after Tshabalala completed his 11-year stint at Simba SC.
He joins the reigning Tanzanian Premier League champions as a free agent, following the expiry of his contract with Simba.
The 29-year-old left-back began his professional career at Kagera Sugar in the 2013/2014 season before moving to Simba in 2014, where he became a key figure and captain over the years.
Tshabalala is currently part of the Tanzania national team, Taifa Stars, competing in the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) hosted at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Known for his leadership and solid defensive play, Tshabalala is expected to bring stability and experience to Yanga's backline as they prepare for both domestic and continental campaigns.
His switch to archrivals Yanga marks one of the most high-profile transfers in Tanzanian football this year, adding further excitement to the upcoming season.
