TAWA leverages Nane Nane 2025 to promote Wildlife conservation and investment opportunities

The Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) is capitalizing on the 31st Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition in Arusha to deepen public understanding of wildlife conservation and to showcase the untapped potential of the country’s tourism sector.

Through its Northern Zone, TAWA is actively engaging visitors at the joint pavilion of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, where it is providing tailored information on tourism attractions and conservation efforts, alongside opportunities for strategic investment within protected areas under its jurisdiction.

The exhibition, which opened on August 1 and runs through August 8, has become a key platform for government institutions to interact directly with citizens.

For TAWA, the event is a window into public engagement, aiming to bridge the knowledge gap on sustainable wildlife management while stimulating interest in domestic tourism.

In a strategic move to draw crowds and raise awareness, TAWA working with partners has introduced live displays of iconic wildlife, including lions, hyenas, and crocodiles.

The live exhibits have become a centerpiece of the Ministry’s pavilion, drawing large numbers of visitors from Arusha and beyond.

According to preliminary figures, more than 350 people had visited the TAWA booth by August 3, receiving direct education and guidance from wildlife professionals. That number is expected to rise significantly as the exhibition approaches its climax.

“Public education is critical in achieving lasting conservation outcomes,” said a TAWA official at the fair.

“We are using this opportunity not only to raise awareness but also to inspire citizen involvement in protecting our national heritage.”he added

The Authority is urging members of the public to visit the pavilion, learn about Tanzania’s unique wildlife heritage, explore available investment avenues in the conservation sector, and understand how sustainable tourism can contribute to national development.

With increasing global attention on eco-tourism and responsible travel, TAWA’s presence at Nane Nane 2025 underscores the government’s broader strategy to position tourism as a key pillar of economic growth.
