The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, Ambassador Engineer Aisha Amour, has urged Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) leaders to embrace innovation, professionalism, and accountability in managing road projects nationwide.
She said these principles are critical to achieving the Sixth Phase Government’s vision of modern and reliable infrastructure that supports economic growth and national development.
Opening a leadership training session for TANROADS management and regional managers in Morogoro, Ambassador Amour stressed that the government is making significant investments in infrastructure.
She said it is the duty of TANROADS to ensure projects meet the highest quality standards and are delivered on time.
“The government allocates substantial resources to this sector, and it is your responsibility to ensure these resources are used creatively, efficiently, transparently, and with full accountability,” she said.
Ambassador Amour also encouraged leaders to keep pace with global scientific and technological changes, saying this would boost productivity in infrastructure development.
TANROADS Chief Executive Officer Engineer Mohamed Besta said the training is part of the agency’s broader strategy to strengthen leadership and operational capacity among senior officers.
He explained that the program aims to build knowledge and efficiency in managing projects to the required standards, which will ultimately drive positive change and support the government’s economic ambitions through improved infrastructure.
