Tanzania’s Taifa Stars are bracing for a crucial showdown as they push for a place in the semi-finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

Head coach Hemed “Morocco” Seleiman said the team has been working tirelessly to sharpen their finishing and maximize opportunities, with the aim of delivering goals that could seal their qualification.

“Our mission is to fight for the nation’s pride by playing with quality and determination,” Morocco said.

“We know our weakness has been finishing, and that is what we have been working on in training. The players are united and focused, and I believe they will take their chances and defend well when it matters most.”

The coach also underscored the importance of supporters, describing them as the team’s “12th player.” He urged Tanzanians to fill the stands and back the team with energy.

“We promise not to disappoint. We will give everything for our country, and with the fans behind us, we can achieve our target,” he added.

Defender Dickson Job said preparations have been thorough, with players ready to follow the coach’s tactical plan and seize the moment.

“Every player is motivated to give their best whenever given the chance, because wearing the national jersey is a great honor,” Job said.

“We’ve been analyzing our opponents, and now it’s about stepping onto the pitch and battling for a semi-final place. The time is now.”

The Stars will face Morocco in their decisive clash, a match that could define their CHAN 2024 campaign.
