By The Respondent Reporter

President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who is seeking re-election as the President of the United Republic of Tanzania under the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) ticket, has officially collected her nomination forms to the National Independent Electoral Commission (NEC).

The submission took place today, August 27, 2025, at NEC headquarters in Njedengwa, Dodoma, where Dr. Samia handed the forms to NEC Chairperson, Court of Appeal Judge Jacobs Mwambegele.

Dr. Samia was accompanied by her running mate, Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, who will vie for the Vice President’s position on the CCM ticket.

Speaking shortly after the submission, officials said the process marks a critical milestone ahead of the 2025 General Election.

NEC will now scrutinize the documents before announcing the final list of approved presidential candidates in the coming days.

The move underscores CCM’s readiness to contest the elections and continue its leadership as the country heads into a decisive political season.
