By Our Correspondent, Chunya

Masache Kasaka has taken a strong lead in the ruling party's parliamentary nomination race for Lupa Constituency after securing 5,569 votes in the CCM opinion polls held on August 4, 2025.

The party primaries, which were conducted across 10 wards in Chunya District, Mbeya Region, featured four contestants vying for the party’s nomination ahead of the 2025 General Election.

Kasaka outpaced his rivals by a wide margin. Noel Damson came in second with 2,854 votes, followed by Geofrey Mwankenja with 2,124 votes. Sara Sampo finished last, receiving only 141 votes.

The results signal strong grassroots support for Kasaka, positioning him as a potential CCM flagbearer in Lupa. However, the final decision will rest with the party's central committee, which will officially endorse candidates in the coming weeks.
