Hundreds of mourners, including top government officials and residents from across the country, gathered in Kongwa District yesterday for a solemn memorial and farewell service in honour of the late former Speaker of the National Assembly, Job Ndugai.
The service, held at St. Michael’s Anglican Church in Kongwa Parish, was presided over by the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Tanzania, Dr. Maimbo Mndolwa.
Mourners filled the church and its surroundings, reflecting the deep respect and affection many held for Ndugai, who served as Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania and represented Kongwa Constituency for many years.
The event formed part of the official programme to pay final respects before his burial, offering Tanzanians from all walks of life the opportunity to remember his long-standing service and leadership in national politics.
