Kyombo secures a lead in CCM opinion polls, Missenyi Constituency

Florent Kyombo has emerged as the frontrunner in the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) opinion polls for Missenyi constituency, putting him on track for a potential second term as Member of Parliament, pending party approval.

In the primary vote held on August 4, 2025, Kyombo garnered 2,979 votes, outpacing his closest rival Projestus Tegamaisho, the two-term Chairperson of Missenyi District Council, who secured 1,355 votes. Former MP Assumpter Mshama followed with 475 votes.

Other aspirants in the race included Plasidius Ndibalema (166 votes), Naswiru Byabato (88 votes), Jacklyne Rushaigo (52 votes), and Amina Athuman (9 votes).

Speaking after the results were announced, Kyombo extended his heartfelt gratitude to voters and party committees for their trust and support.

“I would like to use this opportunity to sincerely thank all voters, wananchi, and all CCM Committees for trusting me again and giving me the opportunity to serve,” he said. 

“Together, we will work diligently to implement the CCM manifesto for the well-being of our people.”he added

Kyombo, who has served as Missenyi MP since the last general election, emphasized his continued commitment to delivering on development priorities aligned with the ruling party's agenda.

The final decision on CCM’s parliamentary candidate will be made by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), ahead of the upcoming general elections.
