The government has reinforced its commitment to digital transformation by donating 30 laptop computers to the Office of the Solicitor General, a move aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery.

The handover ceremony took place today, August 27, 2025, at the Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology headquarters in Mtumba, Dodoma.

The laptops were presented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Mohammed Khamis Abdulla, to the Solicitor General, Dr. Ally Possi, under the ongoing Digital Tanzania Project.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Abdulla said the initiative underscores the government’s strategy to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance the adoption of ICT in public service.

“These laptops will support the Solicitor General’s Office in its core functions, aligning with our national agenda to accelerate digital integration across government institutions,” he said.

Dr. Possi expressed gratitude to the ministry, describing the support as timely and crucial for the office’s operations.

“Our work as government lawyers relies heavily on technology almost 90 percent of what we do is court-related and depends on computers. This donation will significantly improve our ability to deliver legal services efficiently,” he said.

He further commended the ministry for leading digital reforms in the country, particularly efforts to make internet services more affordable for both citizens and public institutions.

The ministry’s Director of ICT Systems and Services Development, Mr. Mohammed Mashaka, noted that through the Digital Tanzania Project, the government is equipping various public entities with ICT tools to streamline operations and improve connectivity across institutions.
