Edward Ole Lekaita, former Member of Parliament for Kiteto Constituency in Manyara Region (2020–2025) under Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), has officially submitted his nomination forms to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He will represent CCM in Kiteto during the general elections scheduled for October 29, 2025.

The submission took place at the National Electoral Commission (NEC) offices in Kiteto District after Ole Lekaita was formally endorsed by CCM’s District Executive Committee as the party’s candidate.

Ole Lekaita was accompanied by CCM leaders from the district, fellow aspirants, party members from regional, district, ward, and local branch offices, and religious leaders.

The delegation concluded the visit at NEC offices by submitting the nomination forms.

Speaking after filing the forms, Ole Lekaita thanked party members for their overwhelming support, saying he received 12,532 votes across all wards, making him the second-highest vote-getter nationwide. Only Judith Kapinga, CCM’s parliamentary candidate for Mbinga Vijijini, received more votes with 12,900.

“My fellow party members, this is a major responsibility to further drive sustainable development, which over the past five years has seen significant achievements under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, exceeding public expectations,” Ole Lekaita said.

Kiteto District Electoral Officer Ally Issa Kichuri reminded Ole Lekaita to complete the forms carefully and return them by the September 27 deadline while adhering to electoral regulations and ethical standards ahead of the October polls.

CCM Kiteto District Chairman Hassan Losioki urged unsuccessful aspirants to set aside divisions and support the party’s endorsed candidates to ensure CCM retains its strength in the constituency.
