Zanzibar President and CCM candidate, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, took a decisive step today, August 30, 2025, toward the 2025 Zanzibar General Election by submitting his nomination form at the Zanzibar Electoral Commission (ZEC) offices in Maisara, West Urban District.
Dr. Mwinyi was joined by his wife, Mrs. Mariam Mwinyi, their family, and senior CCM leaders, including Deputy Secretary-General of CCM Zanzibar, Dr. Mohamed Said Dimwa.
A large crowd of party supporters, local leaders, and development activists gathered to witness the occasion, reflecting strong grassroots support for his leadership.
Addressing the public after submitting the form, Dr. Mwinyi assured citizens that his administration would continue to prioritize development, economic growth, education, and social welfare.
“Our focus remains on creating opportunities for every citizen and building a Zanzibar that works for all,” he said.
The nomination submission marks the official start of Dr. Mwinyi’s campaign, setting the tone for an election season where citizens’ expectations and aspirations will be at the heart of political discourse.
