Chief Government Medical Officer reviews services at Benjamin Mkapa Regional Hospital

The Chief Government Medical Officer, Dr. Grace Magembe, today visited Benjamin Mkapa Regional Hospital to assess the quality and efficiency of healthcare services provided to the public.

Dr. Magembe’s visit preceded the Regional Working Meeting on Improving Medical Services, which brings together Benjamin Mkapa Regional Hospital and Chief Medical Officers from various regions, alongside Heads of Referral Hospitals.

During the visit, she toured key hospital departments, including the kidney transplant unit, the international patient and diagnostic section, the cardiac investigation unit equipped with the Cathlab machine, the Emergency Department, and the Emergency Services Training Center.

She also interacted directly with patients, providing guidance and health education to those seeking care at the hospital.

Dr. Magembe was accompanied by the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Hamad Nyembea, Acting Director of Medical Services, Dr. Caroline Damian, regional Chief Medical Officers, and Heads of Referral Hospitals.

The visit underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring high-quality healthcare services across the country.
