Public servants at the Ministry of Works have been called upon to demonstrate renewed commitment, collaboration, and professionalism in executing their duties to drive performance and deliver timely, safe, and quality infrastructure services to Tanzanians.
The call was made by the Acting Director of Human Resources and Administration, Mr. Mrisho Mrisho, during the official closing of a capacity-building programme on customer service in the public sector, held in Arusha.
The training was organised by the Ministry in partnership with the Tanzania Public Service College (TPSC), Singida Campus.
Mrisho emphasised that the ministry’s ability to deliver on its mandate hinges on the attitude and performance of its workforce.
“I urge all staff to reflect on what they’ve learned and shift from basic to higher levels of performance. The real measure of this training lies in how we translate knowledge into improved service for the people of Tanzania,” he said.
He further reminded participants to uphold public service ethics and compliance with established procedures and regulations.
“Let this training not end here. Let it be the beginning of a mindset shift that strengthens our commitment to serve with integrity, excellence, and accountability.”he added
The training is part of the Ministry’s 2024/25 capacity-building plan aimed at improving service delivery standards.
According to Mr. Onesmo Mkandawile, Senior Human Resource Officer and Training Coordinator, the current session was the third phase of a series of training interventions and brought together 54 staff members from across various departments.
“This is a strategic investment in our people. As a Ministry, we are committed to ensuring our staff have the tools and mindset needed to meet evolving public expectations,” he said.
The facilitator of the training, Mr. Emmanuel Masewa from TPSC Singida Campus, commended the Ministry for prioritising professional development, noting that such initiatives are crucial in enhancing institutional performance.
“We are honoured by the trust placed in us by the Ministry. We are confident that the skills shared during this programme will lead to greater efficiency and productivity,” Masewa said.
The Ministry of Works continues to position human capital development as a key enabler of its strategic goals aligning itself with broader national aspirations of delivering people-centred infrastructure solutions and fostering a culture of responsive governance.
