The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament and Coordination), William Lukuvi, has commended the Ministry of Energy for fully relocating its operations to the Government City of Mtumba, a strategic step aligned with President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision to improve service delivery through centralized government operations.
Lukuvi made the remarks during his visit to the Ministry's newly completed office building at Mtumba, where he was received by the Permanent Secretary, Eng. Felchesmi Mramba, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dr. James Mataragio, and senior ministry officials.
“I commend you for this important milestone. Your decision to fully relocate the Ministry demonstrates your commitment to fulfilling the President’s vision. I also recognize the contractor and site supervisor for ensuring the timely completion of this project,” Lukuvi said.
He acknowledged President Samia Suluhu Hassan for allocating funds that enabled the construction of the ministry’s offices and other government buildings at Mtumba.
According to Lukuvi, the Head of State is determined to ensure Tanzanians access public services more efficiently, in one coordinated location, without unnecessary delays or movements across the city.
“The President wants to see civil servants working together in one place, delivering services in a streamlined manner. By moving here, the Ministry of Energy has shown it respects and supports her vision,” he emphasized.
Lukuvi further applauded Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, for his leadership and insistence on fast-tracking the relocation process and ensuring the ministry’s staff moved into the new facility promptly.
He urged staff to protect and maintain the infrastructure, saying the government expects the new facilities to serve for years to come.
“This investment must be preserved. Let’s ensure all infrastructure and equipment are well cared for, so they remain functional and impactful over time,” he added.
The relocation of the Ministry of Energy is part of a broader government agenda to shift all ministries and key departments to Mtumba, transforming the area into a modern administrative capital.
The move is aimed at fostering inter-ministerial collaboration and reducing the cost and time citizens spend accessing public services scattered across different locations in Dodoma.
The Ministry of Energy becomes one of the latest ministries to complete its transition to Mtumba, a move that further signals the government’s resolve to accelerate institutional transformation under the Sixth Phase Administration.
