Tanzania’s CRDB Bank has won three top international awards that are expected to boost trust and access to better financial services for Tanzanians.
The awards, presented by the renowned Euromoney magazine in London on July 17, 2025, recognized CRDB as the Best Bank in Tanzania, Best Bank for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and Best Bank for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
These recognitions come at a time when the bank is celebrating 30 years of service to Tanzanians. The awards signal CRDB’s strong commitment to improving people’s lives by offering inclusive, responsible, and reliable banking solutions.
Ms. Tully Esther Mwambapa, Executive Director of the CRDB Bank Foundation, received the awards on behalf of the bank during a ceremony attended by over 500 global financial experts. She was joined by senior CRDB officials and representatives from the Tanzanian Embassy in the UK.
“These awards reflect our commitment to supporting Tanzanians in all walks of life from individuals and small business owners to communities at large,” said Ms. Mwambapa.
“We are proud to represent Tanzania on the global stage and will continue using our services to bring real development to the people.”he added
For ordinary citizens, these awards mean more than international praise they reflect CRDB’s efforts to provide better access to loans for small businesses, promote environmental and social responsibility, and offer customer-friendly services across the country.
The latest achievements follow another international award in May 2025, when Euromoney named CRDB the Best Islamic Banking Service Provider in Tanzania for its CRDB Al Barakah services. This brings the bank’s total to four Euromoney awards this year alone.
With these recognitions, CRDB Bank is reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in Tanzania’s development journey supporting entrepreneurship, responsible governance, and improved livelihoods for all.
