Tanzania Prisons FC is stepping up its preparations for a crucial NBC Premier League showdown against Yanga SC, scheduled for June 18 at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, the club’s Secretary General, John Matei, confirmed that the team resumed training on Monday after returning to camp, with full focus on the upcoming fixture.

“We are determined to secure all three points or at least one in order to climb the league table and avoid being dragged into the relegation playoffs this season,” said Matei.

He acknowledged the challenge posed by Yanga, who are strong title contenders, but emphasized that Tanzania Prisons will fight hard for a positive result.

“We have two games left, starting with Yanga, a very competitive side aiming for the championship. But we’re going all out to earn something from the match whether it's three points or one,” he added.

Matei also highlighted the strong morale and motivation within the squad, noting that the players are fully committed to helping the team stay in the top flight.

After facing Yanga, Tanzania Prisons will conclude their season with a crucial match against Singida Black Stars a game that could determine whether they remain in the Premier League or face the playoffs.
