The Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament and Coordination) will continue providing public education on key government services and empowerment opportunities beyond the just-concluded Public Service Week, a senior official has said.

Mr. Conrad Milinga, Director of the Department of Economic Empowerment and Private Sector Development, said the commemorations offered a critical platform to raise awareness on the Office’s role in promoting inclusive economic development through access to loans and empowerment funds available across multiple sectors.

Speaking during the climax of Public Service Week held at Chinangali Park in Dodoma on June 23, 2025, Mr. Milinga said the Prime Minister’s Office used the week to engage with citizens and stakeholders on various priority areas under its mandate.

“These exhibitions have allowed us to offer detailed education to the public on economic empowerment initiatives, the national disaster preparedness system, and the appropriate use of national symbols such as the national flag, coat of arms, and the full two stanzas of the national anthem,” he said.

Mr. Milinga noted that the Disaster Management Department continues to enhance public safety through an early warning system capable of identifying potential risks before they occur.

“We have educated the public on how the early warning system works to issue alerts before disasters strike, giving communities time to prepare. We’ve also clarified the correct use of national symbols, which are important elements of our identity and unity,” he explained.

He added that the Office has also used the platform to share information on the role of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department, which tracks implementation and performance of government projects and programmes across the country.

Looking ahead, Mr. Milinga called on the public to visit the Prime Minister’s Office pavilion at the upcoming Sabasaba International Trade Fair, which begins on June 28, 2025, in Dar es Salaam.

“We will be participating in the Sabasaba exhibitions together with our affiliated institutions. We encourage the public to visit and learn more about the services we offer and how they can benefit,” he said.

This year’s Public Service Week was held from June 16 to 23, 2025 under the theme: “Enhance the Use of Digital Systems to Improve Access to Information and Promote Accountability.” The event brought together dozens of government institutions and thousands of citizens from across the country.
