Ocean Road Cancer Institute reassures public on reliable radiotherapy services

By The Respondent Reporter

The Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) has strongly dismissed recent rumors circulating on social media claiming that its radiotherapy machines have broken down and that cancer patients are being denied treatment.

These false reports have caused unnecessary alarm among patients, their families, and the general public.

ORCI management assures the public that all radiotherapy machines are fully functional and that treatment services continue without interruption.

Cancer patients are receiving care according to government-approved guidelines, and no patient has been turned away.

In a move to improve cancer care, the Government, through the Ministry of Health, has recently procured two new state-of-the-art radiotherapy machines for ORCI.

This investment underscores the Government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and expanding treatment capacity for cancer patients.

The Institute remains fully dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer treatment, including radiotherapy and other essential services, ensuring patients receive timely and effective care.

The public is urged to rely only on official information issued by ORCI and the Ministry of Health and to disregard unverified social media posts that spread misinformation.

Such false claims risk undermining public confidence and may negatively affect patients’ wellbeing.

ORCI encourages patients, families, and stakeholders to seek updates and clarifications directly from official sources.

The Institute commits to transparent communication and timely updates to prevent the spread of inaccurate information.
