The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has released the official weather forecast for the next 24 hours, effective from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025.

The update provides essential information for citizens, travelers, farmers, and maritime operators across the country.

For residents of the Lake Zone covering Kagera, Mara, Geita, Mwanza, and Simiyu partly cloudy skies are expected, with a possibility of isolated thundershowers in some areas. These conditions will be accompanied by periods of sunshine during the day.

In the rest of the country including the islands of Unguja and Pemba, as well as the regions of Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Coast (including Mafia), Dodoma, Singida, Morogoro, Lindi, Mtwara, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Kigoma, Shinyanga, Tabora, Katavi, Ruvuma, Iringa, Njombe, Rukwa, Mbeya, and Songwe partly cloudy conditions and sunny intervals are forecast. These calm weather conditions will support normal daily activities across various sectors.

Temperature levels will vary significantly by region. The southern highlands, particularly Njombe and Mbeya, will experience the coldest conditions, with minimum temperatures dropping to 8°C.

In contrast, coastal cities like Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar will remain warm and humid, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 30°C. Dodoma, the capital city, will see a high of 28°C and a low of 16°C.

Sunrise and sunset times also vary across the country. For example, Arusha will see the sun rise at 6:38 a.m. and set at 6:32 p.m., while in Kigoma, sunrise will be at 7:09 a.m., with sunset at 6:55 p.m.

Along the coast, moderate sea conditions are expected. Winds will blow steadily from the southeast at speeds of up to 30 kilometers per hour. These stable conditions are favorable for fishing and marine transportation.

Looking ahead to Sunday, June 22, 2025, only slight changes in weather patterns are expected. The public is encouraged to stay informed through regular updates from the Tanzania Meteorological Authority and to take necessary precautions, particularly in regions likely to experience rainstorms.
