Nairobi, Kenya – Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) continues to strengthen its diplomatic engagement and regional cooperation through strategic dialogue with political allies.
This week, CCM Secretary General Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi held high-level talks with his counterpart from Kenya’s ruling party, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Omar Hassan.
The meeting took place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the UDA Headquarters located at Hustler Plaza in Gigiri, Nairobi. It forms part of CCM’s ongoing efforts to enhance political collaboration within the East African Community (EAC) and foster continental and global partnerships.
The two leaders discussed a range of issues aimed at enhancing inter-party cooperation, including experience-sharing in party building, democratic participation, and promoting good governance.
They also emphasized the importance of unity among political institutions in the region to maintain peace, stability, and socio-political development.
Ambassador Dr. Nchimbi noted that strong relations between ruling parties are vital for ensuring sustained development and political harmony.
“We believe that party diplomacy, when focused on mutual respect and development, contributes significantly to peace, social progress, and unity across our nations,” he said.
The visit also served to promote people-centered leadership by encouraging inclusive political systems that welcome participation from all demographics. Both CCM and UDA agreed on the importance of empowering citizens through democratic engagement and responsive governance.
The CCM Secretary General's visit is part of a broader regional strategy to build networks that support institutional growth, democratic resilience, and long-term political stability.
As Tanzania plays a key role within the EAC, such engagements help elevate its diplomatic profile while ensuring that the values of good governance and inclusive development remain central in regional politics.
CCM extended its sincere gratitude to UDA for their hospitality and openness during the visit, reaffirming the party’s commitment to nurturing strong partnerships wherever shared values exist.
Ambassador Dr. Nchimbi is expected to return to Tanzania on the evening of Thursday, June 19, 2025.
This visit highlights CCM’s continued efforts to ensure that party leadership across Africa is anchored in unity, cooperation, and service to the people.
