Kaliua DAS warns health workers against corruption and discrimination

By Alfred Zacharia

KALIUA – The Kaliua District Administrative Secretary, Raymond Mweli, has issued a strong warning to health workers at Ulyankulu Health Centre, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism by serving all citizens equally—without corruption, bias, or favoritism.

Speaking during a special visit to the facility on May 9, 2025 in the Ulyankulu constituency, Mr. Mweli emphasized that the government would not tolerate any form of misconduct or unethical behavior among public servants in the health sector.

“I do not want to hear any reports of citizens being asked for bribes or receiving discriminatory treatment,” Mr. Mweli stated firmly. “Any health worker found engaging in such acts will be held accountable and dealt with according to the law.”

The visit was part of ongoing efforts by the district administration to monitor service delivery and strengthen integrity within public institutions.

Mr. Mweli’s remarks highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering a culture of accountability and ensuring that all residents of Kaliua District have access to fair and respectful healthcare services.

His directive is expected to boost public confidence in the local healthcare system while reinforcing the responsibilities of health professionals to serve the community without prejudice.
