DRFA secretary general banned for six years, fined TZS 5 million

The Ethics Committee of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has imposed a six-year ban on Ramadhani Missiru, Secretary General of the Dar es Salaam Regional Football Association (DRFA), prohibiting him from engaging in any football-related activities both locally and internationally. In addition, he has been fined TZS 5 million.

The disciplinary action was taken following a meeting held by the TFF Ethics Committee on May 8, during which several cases were reviewed  including those involving Missiru, the TFF Secretariat, and Thabiti Zakaria, the Media and Communications Officer of Azam FC.

According to a statement issued by TFF’s Media and Communications Officer, Clifford Mario Ndimbo, Missiru faced two charges: failure to comply with a decision by the TFF Ethics Committee, in violation of Rule 73(8), and incitement of the public, in violation of Rule 73(4) of the TFF Ethics Code (2021 edition).

After hearing both sides and reviewing the submitted evidence, the committee found Missiru guilty on both counts and handed down the penalties accordingly.

In contrast, Thabiti Zakaria, who was accused of inciting the public, was acquitted. The committee determined there was insufficient evidence to support the allegation after thoroughly reviewing all testimonies and documents presented during the proceedings.
