Boxing clubs have been called upon to confirm their participation in the upcoming National Open Championship, which is scheduled to take place from June 2 to June 7 this year in Dar es Salaam.
This call was made by the Secretary General of the Boxing Federation of Tanzania (BFT), Makore Mashaga.
He emphasized that this competition will be crucial in selecting the national team that will represent Tanzania in various international tournaments.
Mashaga explained that the selected team will compete in events such as the Zone 3 Championship, the African Championship, the Commonwealth Games, and the 2028 Olympic Games.
"Preparations are already in progress, and invitations have been extended to the participating teams. The next step for them is to confirm their participation and start preparing their teams accordingly," said Mashaga.
In addition, Mashaga announced the launch of a first-degree coaching and officiating course, set to run from May 26 to June 7 this year in Dar es Salaam.
He also encouraged those interested in gaining foundational skills in coaching and officiating to register for the course by paying a confirmation fee of 70,000 Tanzanian shillings.
