Young Africans (Yanga SC) delivered an outstanding performance, securing a resounding 8-1 victory over Stand United in their CRDB Federation Cup quarterfinal clash today at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam. The win not only put Yanga in the semifinals but also showcased their sheer dominance on the field.

The match began with Yanga quickly asserting their superiority, with Stephane Azizi Ki scoring the opening goal in the 16th minute.

Just minutes later, in the 20th minute, Dickson Kibabage doubled their lead, adding a second goal within a four-minute span. Yanga continued to push forward relentlessly, and in the 32nd minute, Clatous Chama found the back of the net, making it 3-0.

Chama wasn’t done yet and added another in the 41st minute, extending the lead to 4-0 just before the halftime whistle.

Stand United, despite being overwhelmed, managed to pull one back early in the second half. In the 49th minute, Msenda Senda scored a consolation goal, giving the Stand United fans something to cheer about.

However, Yanga responded quickly, with Aziz Ki scoring his second goal in the 51st minute, followed by his third in the 60th, pushing the scoreline to 6-1.

As the final whistle blew, Yanga’s fans erupted in celebration, their team having delivered a dominant display of attacking football.

This emphatic win sees Young Africans complete the quarterfinals with a place in the semifinals, where they will face JKT Tanzania. In the other semifinal, Simba will go head-to-head with Singida Black Star in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

For Yanga, this victory is a testament to their offensive prowess, and they will be looking to carry this momentum forward as they continue their quest for the CRDB Federation Cup title.

The 8-1 result sends a strong message to their rivals that Yanga is a team to be reckoned with in this year’s competition.
