The government has affirmed that the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) continues to provide tax education through various platforms targeting all taxpayer groups, including women entrepreneurs' associations.
This was stated in Parliament in Dodoma by the Deputy Minister for Finance, Hamad Hassan Chande, while responding to a question from Special Seats Member of Parliament, Janeth Elias Mahawanga.
She had inquired about the government's plans to introduce dedicated tax education classes for women entrepreneurs through their organized groups.
“TRA has been offering tax education to women entrepreneurs through their various platforms, including the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC), as well as other women-led business groups,” said Chande.
He emphasized that, in a bid to ensure the sustainability and wider reach of tax education among women entrepreneurs, TRA will continue working closely with the relevant ministries to strengthen communication and expand networks among women entrepreneurs.
Through their associations and institutions, they will be better equipped to access vital tax knowledge that supports their economic ventures.
Chande further noted that these ongoing tax education efforts have contributed to a growing number of women entrepreneurs voluntarily registering their businesses with TRA.
