Simba SC has departed for South Africa this morning with a 23-man squad ahead of their decisive second-leg semi-final match in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The match is set to be played this Sunday in Cape Town, where Simba will face hosts Stellenbosch FC.
The Tanzanian giants head into the tie with a narrow advantage, having secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg held on April 20 at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, thanks to a crucial 44th-minute goal from Jean Charles Ahoua.

Team coordinator Abbas Ally and his delegation had already traveled ahead of the squad to ensure all logistics and preparations are in place for the team’s arrival and stay.
Simba’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, expressed confidence that the team is well-positioned to reach the final of the competition.
“We believe Jean Charles Ahoua’s goal in the first leg could be enough to carry us through. If we hold them to a draw, we’re through to the final,” said Ally.
He emphasized that the path to the final is now in the hands of Head Coach Fadlu Davids and the players.
“If they score, we’ll score. If they get two, we’ll get one. If they get three, we’ll get two. This is our final,” he declared with optimism.
